Becoming an entrepreneur in your company
In many cases, departments are also cost or profit centers, responsible for whole product/market segments or, operating as internal service providers, they have to match the price of their competitors on the open market. They have the status of being "companies within a company" (CWCs). The whole system is comparable to a flock of birds. Each subsystem has the scope for independent flight, yet the system in its entirety flies along in formation.
Trigon has developed concepts and models that explain how this type of organization can operate successfully. In the overall system, framework conditions must be created so that the entrepreneurs have sufficient maneuverability but also clearly know their limits. For senior management, this means that they not only provide leadership for their employees but also shape areas of responsibility to encourage "entrepreneurial" behavior.
We support the introduction and development of organizations with a CWC structure.
Typical areas for exploration are:
- Reforming an organization along CWC lines
- Establishing centralized and decentralized roles and tasks
- Introducing strategy and planning processes within a CWC system
- Developing and defining the latitude and limitations of decision-making powers for CWCs
- Steering and control, with the seven managerial responsibilities
- Recognizing and utilizing your own scope of action as a manager
