Development processes in social systems: Large-scale projects, reform measures, policy decisions

The links between business, politics, government and civil society are becoming ever more complex. Tensions and conflicts of interest are steadily increasing, for example in construction projects, in transport and environmental policy and in attempts by national, regional and local government to undertake reforms. Previous techniques and methods to solve this problem are increasingly coming up against their limits.

We support governments, public bodies, businesses and NGOs in the design of complex processes with multiple stakeholders. We combine approaches from organizational development and mediation with models from political science, systems theory, sociology and philosophy.

We have taken a number of key ideas from the works of Nicanor Perlas who has developed a holistic model for work on social systems based on Rudolf Steiner's threefold social order and successfully implemented it in practice. Another element is the Theory U proposed by C. Otto Scharmer.

We have had many years' experience in the design and support of participatory processes in a social context such as:

  • Model processes for cities, municipalities or federal states/cantons
  • Architecture and support of development processes for urban or rural councils
  • Design and facilitation of round table discussions on major public projects or reform ventures.
  • Complex mediation in the public arena.
  • Coaching and support for politicians and decision makers in companies and administrations engaged in complex public processes
